Muggins Mountain Wilderness offers many challenges and sights for the avid 4X4'er, but you won't need one to attend this event, hosted by sheppard4.  Join him for this mid-morning adventure as you hike along a mountain 'road', and then a trail, to explore this striking area. 

 

The ruggedness of this area is ideal for activities such as day hiking, backpacking, rock climbing, sightseeing, photography, and studying nature, native plants, or wildlife.  Oh yeah, you might even find a cache or two along the way.

“Lettuce” entertain you with a flash mob

in the “Salad Capital of the Nation”!

 

Join kctrumpet for our annual flash mob event. A flash mob happens when a group of people assembles suddenly, performs a brief, bizarre act, then quickly disperses.

 

This year's event features conga lines and dollar bills.  Afterwards, you'll have a choice: you can pocket your money or you can donate it to Hospice of Yuma by placing it in a well-marked container near the roundabout. 

 

As long as you are already in old town Yuma, there are many fine restaurants nearby for you and your friends to enjoy.

Allow 45 minutes to one hour from the parking coordinates.

 

If you wish to hike along with other cachers, gather at the parking coordinates by 9:00 am Arizona time and then head off as a group to the event coordinates. If you arrive after the group has started hiking, just head on up the trail.

Event will be from 10:00am to 10:30am.  Should it rain that morning, the event will be cancelled due to scrambling over slippery rocks, and an announcement will be posted prior to 8:00am.

 

Also the event is on Arizona State Trust Land and a permit is required.  Permits can be purchased online at https://asld.secure.force.com/recreationalpermit/ and are good for one year from date of purchase.

 

Lace up your hiking boots and let's meet at the posted coordinates.  Allow 45 minutes to one hour from the parking coordinates.  Round trip hiking is roughly two miles.

Meet and laugh with many of the geocachers who will be attending the Yuma Mega Event. This is always a brief, quirky, and fun activity.

 

This year the flash mob will be in Yuma’s Old Town at the traffic roundabout. Check out the details and log your "will attend" at GCA23ZM. Be sure to arrive a bit early so you don't miss it.

You will be surrounded with great restaurants and watering holes, so you may want to take advantage of these with your fellow geocachers.
